Illegal content in a user profile

I happened to see this question about a moderator’s profile and whether it is legal say a certain thing. The question was closed while I was answering, so I’m posting here instead. For posterity the highlighted part of the quote is:

To prevent this from happening, you must take to the streets or any channel you have the most influence with, and do everything in your power to contribute to the removal of Vladimir Putin.

I guess the question is “What jurisdiction?” The general policy on Stack Exchange has been:

  1. Generally speaking, your “about me” is just that—what you want to share with the world, and we try to allow users a good bit of freedom there.
  2. However, in the rare cases where what’s there is likely to be truly offensive to large groups of seemingly reasonable people, we may not allow it.

I imagine a call to “take to the streets” to remove the leader would not be welcome in Russia. But it is Aaron’s opinion and isn’t particularly offensive that I can tell. If the same thing had been said about the leader of my country (the United States), I wouldn’t be particularly concerned. Though freedom of speech (and assembly) rights vary quite a bit around the world. Whether or not it’s a violation of a law in a particular place is not really a concern that can be answered in this venue.
